The 71st Santa Claus Parade kicks off the Holiday season in downtown Montreal on Saturday, November 25!

SDC Montréal centre-ville is pleased to announce the long-awaited date for the upcoming Santa Claus Parade, the not-to-be-missed Holiday season kickoff event that attracts thousands of Quebecers every year. On Saturday, November 25, at 11 a.m., families and spectators from all walks of life are invited downtown to enjoy this unforgettable moment of celebration, during which Santa Claus, the Snow Fairy, the elves and a host of additional dazzling characters will take over the heart of the city.

“Every winter, the Santa Claus Parade brings together thousands of spectators, families and friends to celebrate the beginning of the Holiday season and create unforgettable memories. And there’s more! The parade is also a major television event across the province, and our teams are already hard at work. We invite all spectators to take full advantage of this downtown experience, to do their holiday shopping in the many stores and boutiques, or to enjoy a meal with their family in one of the 800 restaurants at their disposal”, says Glenn Castanheira, General Manager of SDC Montréal centre-ville.

For 71 years, Santa Claus and his friends have visited downtown Montreal to greet young and old alike in this run-up to the Holiday season, making it the oldest traditional event of its kind in Quebec. This annual celebration marks the beginning of the festive season. Last year’s 70th edition attracted close to 400,000 people to enjoy the many floats and to welcome Santa Claus back.
