This National Wildlife Area was established in 1978 to protect habitats for migratory birds’ staging areas and breeding grounds for at-risk species. It occupies an area of 724 hectares (1,789 acres) and is located at the northeastern end of Îles-de-la-Madeleine in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
