This National Wildlife Area was established in 1980 to protect an intertidal cordgrass marsh and coastal habitats that are important for waterfowl, particularly the American Black Duck. This 322-hectare (795-acre) protected area forms a long strip along the south shore of the St. Lawrence Estuary, northeast of Rivière-du-Loup.
